What are the dimensions of each Yellow Box?
- 5' wide x 8' long x 7' high with a large swing
door.
- The door clearance is 3'11" wide x 6'2" high. - Interior dimensions are: 4' 9 ½" wide
x 7'8" deep x 6'4 ¼" high.
The dimension are designed to hold full household items. Large
items are no problem, such as mattresses, couches, refrigerators
and washer/dryers. We have even had customers store pool tables
and pianos in the Yellow Boxes! You are welcome to stop by &

How many Yellow Boxes will I need?
One Yellow Box for every 1-1½ rooms or 500 square foot
of household items. We can deliver up to 4 Yellow Boxes at one
time & 4 will hold approx. 2,000 sq. ft. of household items
as a general rule of thumb. Don't worry if you order an extra
Yellow Box and don't use it, you only pay for what you use!

will assist you in determining how many Yellow Boxes you will
need or use our online SPACE
ESTIMATOR.
How much weight can each Yellow Box
hold?
Each Yellow Box holds up to 1500 lbs.You want to
make sure to evenly distribute the weight through out the box while
packing.
What are the Yellow Boxes made of?
Built with an exterior plywood construction,
single hinged door opening, with a heavy-duty latch system for your
lock. They sit on pressure treated skids for ground contact and are
covered by vinyl covers to make weather proof. Wood construction allows
belongings to breathe better in climate control compared to other types
of storage boxes.
Are Yellow Boxes secure on while my
property?
Absolutely! The door on each Yellow Box is
designed to latch tightly when closed in three different places. The
middle latch allows for you to secure with the lock we have provided or
one of your own choice. No employee will EVER ask for the key or
combination to your lock because you are the only one that has it.
Does The StoreRoom provide
movers/packers/labor to help me load my belongings?
The StoreRoom cannot load your Yellow Box(s); however we receive
great referrals from customers of whom they hired to have pack
their Yellow Boxes. We are happy to provide you with some local
references to call because of their experience loading/unloading
our Yellow Boxes! See our Recommended

How long do I have to load the Yellow
Box(s) before you pick them up?
NO NEED TO RUSH! This helps ease the stress of
packing & moving. Most people take on average up to 10 days to
load or unload. Your Yellow Boxes will not be picked up until you have
called and spoken to a Storage Consultant
Please note: Yellow Boxes are
not intended for long term on site storage. You may be required
to have a permit if used on site longer than 30 days. Call to

How soon should I schedule delivery /pick-up of my Yellow Box(s)?
We will always recommend giving a 1 week notice for scheduling
a delivery or pick-up. With The StoreRoom being located in Lexington
and answering calls locally we can usually schedule you with
in 24-48 hours.
We deliver and pick-up Monday thru Saturday from
8:00am - 5:00pm. Someone only needs to be there for delivery if paying
by check.
Please Note: The
end of any given month and warmer months tend to be the busiest times
for scheduling. Call ahead, better to be on the scheduling than not,
especially if you have deadline date to vacate a property.
Do you offer locks or packing
materials?
Yes. We sell both locks and packing materials.
Where are the Yellow Boxes placed on
my property?
It is our primary goal to place your Yellow Box(s) wherever
it is most convenient for you to load them. Our truck is capable
of delivering or picking up to 4 Yellow Boxes at one time. Our
trained & professional driver off loads each Yellow Box
with a mobile forklift, allowing placement other trucks cannot
get to. Most times a driveway or in a parking space is the best
placement. Place behind home or building if at all possible.
Find a fairly level solid surface to place the Yellow Boxes
on and there should not be a problem. Two Yellow Boxes placed
side by side will fit into a stand parking space or takes up
the space of a parked car. Always ask permission before having
Yellow Boxes delivered if you are renting or Yellow Boxes will
be on someone else's property. The StoreRoom is not responsible
for any damages should you request placement in the grass or
on a surface other than concrete. The driver reserves the right
to decline placement if he feels it is not suitable.

NOTE: Mobile Storage units are allowed in residential
zones for 30 days. Any longer requires approval from the local Building
Inspector (859-258-3770). Street placement requires a FREE permit,
which The StoreRoom is happy to call and apply for - one less thing for
you to do! The number for street placement is 859-258-3830.
I live in an apartment or on a rental
property - can I still use mobile storage?
ALWAYS ASK PERMISSION before having mobile storage
delivered to an apartment or rental property. It is your responsibility
to discuss with the landowner if you can have mobile storage units
delivered and be sure you have agreed on the placement and time they
can be there. Two Yellow Boxes placed side by side will fit into a
stand parking space or takes up the space of a parked car. Place behind
home or building if at all possible. The StoreRoom is proud to be a
member of the LAA - Lexington Apartment Association.
Can Yellow Boxes be placed on a
sloped driveway?
Until we deliver we will not know if it is a
problem. While sitting in your parked car, open the door and if you can
exit the vehicle without having to hold the door open (meaning the door
will stay open on its own), the driveway it probably fine. See photo
below of sloped drive we delivered to.
Can Yellow Boxes be placed in the
roadway?
Each city varies on whether they allow mobile storage units to
be placed in the road. It is best to always check with your
local Building Inspector's office to see if they are allowed
and if a permit it required.

Are there any items prohibited to be
stored in your Yellow Boxes?
Yes, DO NOT store the following items in the
Yellow Box: flammable or hazardous materials, weapons, explosive
devices, illegal substances, perishables and no liquids! Should you
decide to store a lawnmower, weed eater, blower or any object that
holds fluids, they must be drained prior to storage!
What if I am worried about items
shifting around?
Pack your Yellow Box just as you would a truck (but
less the ramp to go up & down). Yellow Boxes are just inches
of the ground. You are responsible for securing all items.
Use common sense and you should not have any problems. There
are 2 metal "O" rings on the back wall & 2 on the front
for you to use to secure tie downs to secure items that may
shift otherwise. Place heavy items on the bottom and lighter
items on top, use strong moving boxes in uniform sizes, break
down items with removable legs. Do not place breakables by the
door on the Yellow Box. The StoreRoom does not accept responsibility
for damaged or broken goods.

Is there a place to hang clothing in the Yellow Boxes?
We rent relocatable clothing rods - they are ideal for hanging
clothing on, no need to take garments off hangers. They can
be placed where you need them - this offers flexibility as to
where you want them. The StoreRoom's rods can also be used to
secure larger items. It truly is the easiest way to move clothing
on hangers - you'll be glad you used them!

THE STOREROOM service/storage cost?
The price will depend on how many Yellow Boxes are needed.

What does the
phrase, "Pay only for what you use" mean?
If you order 4 Yellow Boxes and only use 3, we will credit you back for the unused Yellow Box like you never had it. This eliminates guess work! This credit will be issued ONLY during the first 30 days of use, if you are storing in climate controlled facility or relocating from A to B. Offer not valid when units are used on site with no relocation. We do not credit back when used for on-site storage because many customers use our service for short term projects lasting less than one month.
How do I pay my
monthly STOREROOM bill?
The day we deliver you will need to pay the first month's rent
for the Yellow Boxes ordered and your deliver charge. Any additional
month's rent or delivery charges will be automatically debited/charged
to either your debit/credit card or from your checking account.
Payment options:
1) Provide your debit or credit card number in advance for
amount due day of delivery and for future withdrawals or credits.
2) Provide some information regarding checking account prior
to delivery and upon delivery a check in the amount due the
day of delivery along with a voided check to make future withdrawals
or credits.

Additional months charges will be debited/charged on your anniversary
date. Your anniversary date is your original delivery date (I.e.:
Delivered on November 12th - the 12th of each month is your
anniversary date). After 30 days of storage, we prorate rent.
Any days not used at the end of your storage period will be
credited/refunded back to you! Should you return a Yellow Box
unused within the first 30 days you will be credited back as
if you never had it. Eliminates guesswork - you pay only for
what you use! It is that easy, no bill to keep up with and you're
not paying for days of storage you haven't used!
Do you offer insurance?
The StoreRoom is so confident about the safe & secure storage of your property we insure each Yellow Box up to $2,000.00. This insurance covers damaged that may happen should the Yellow Box be damaged while we are lifting or moving it with our mobile forklift, transporting it on our truck or if it is damaged while in our storage facility.
How accessible
am I to my storage items once in your storage facility?
Simply call us (866-847-8230) with a 24-hour notice of when you needing access and we'll have your specified Yellow Box brought down to our customer viewing area at no charge. Your Yellow Box(s) will be available in the viewing area during the time you have scheduled. If you are unable to make it during this time we may need to move it back into its place and will require you to call and schedule again for access. Access of Yellow Boxes is available during regular business hours Monday-Friday, 9:00am - 4:00pm.
How safe is THE
STOREROOM'S storage center?
Our warehouses are equipped with a 24-hour security system, video surveillance, and sprinkler system and treated monthly by ORKIN. Your belongings are stored in a climate-controlled environment (50-80 degrees). You will always find our storage center to be kept clean, dry, safe and secure.
Why does The StoreRoom treat the facility monthly by ORKIN?
The Storeroom goes the added step and has ORKIN treat the facility
to help ensure the environment your belongings are stored in
will be the very best. Packing up items from attics, basements,
closets can stir up unwanted pests. We have ORKIN Pest control
treat and check our facility on a monthly basis to ensure there
will be no rodent/pest problems!
